The Kamov Ka-50 / Ka-52 is developed to meet the demand of a Russian army requirement for a new close air support helicopter, main competitor is the Mil Mi-28, until now no choice has been made between the two.

 

 

Developing Nation: Russia.

First Flight: July 27, 1982.
First Delivery: No production frames ordered.

Engine (s): Klimov TV3-117VMA turbo shafts (2.190 hp) driving two three-blade counter rotating coaxial main rotors.

- Combat range: 520 km.

- standard endurance: 1 hr 40 min, with extra fuel 4 hr.

- Ferry range: 1.200 km.

Weapons:

- One single barrel 30 mm 2A42 gun on rights side of the fuselage.
