Mil Mi-28 Havok

The  Mil Mi-28 is developed to meet the demand of a Russian army requirement for a new close air support helicopter, main competitor is the Kamov Ka-50, until now no choice has been made between the two.

 

 

Developing Nation: Russia.
Task: Two seat attack helicopter.
First Flight: November 10, 1982.
First Delivery: no production frames ordered.

- front cockpit for navigator / weapons operator.

- rear cockpit for pilot.

- A rear fuselage compartment can hold two or three people, intended for emergency recovery of personnel only.

Main rotor Span: 17.20 m.
Length: 17.01 m (without rotors).
Height: 3.82 m to top of rotor head.
Engine (s): Klimov TV3 turbo shafts driving a five blade main rotor and four blade tail rotor 2x (2.465 hp each).
Weight: 8.590 kg.
Max.Take off weight: 11.500 kg.
Max. Speed: 320 km/h.
Max. Range:

- 460 km (with standard fuel).

- 1.100 km (ferry range with reserves).

- Endurance with max fuel 2hr.

Weapons:

- One NPPU-28 30 mm cannon in under nose turret.

- four underwing hardpoints can carry an ordnance load of 1.920 kg.
