Sikorsky H-60 Black Hawk

The Sikorsky H-60 Black Hawk is a conventional, medium-range helicopter with elastomeric bearings carrying an advanced four-bladed titanium/glass fiber honeycomb rotor. The aircraft has a horizontal stabilizer, tail rotor and electronic fly-by-wire flight control system.

 

The Sikorsky H-60 routinely has a crew of two pilots and one or more Para rescue technicians for rescue and special operations duties.

The H-60 began with first flight of the US Army YUH-60A on October 17,1974 .

The H/MH-60G is configured for rescue and special operations work. The helicopter incorporates an aerial refueling probe, additional internal auxiliary fuel tank of 443 liters. Fuel management systems, Doppler navigation equipment, an electronic map display, secure HF (high frequency) radio, FLIR (MH-60G only) and up to three .50 in machine guns(MH-60G) or 7.62 mm Minigun (HH-60G).

 

On a day insertion/extraction or combat rescue mission, the MH-60G can be refueled in flight or when conducting one third of the mission at alt. below 305 m, cruises at 258 km/h, at 305 m carrying special operations personnel, or equipment weighing up to about 997 kg to a maximum radius of about 1.046 km.
